Beginning in mid-July, the Petersen Automotive Museum offers a second look at the Mullin collection of French classics, generously donated to the Petersen by the Peter W. Mullin Family Charitable Foundation. Coincidental with the display, the Museum’s gift shop offers two books devoted to portions of that collection, which we elected to offer as our Motorbook(s) of the Month. In Vitesse~Élégance: French Expression of Flight and Motion, the third in the series on Peter Mullin's extraordinary collection of French cars, author Serge Bellu takes a fresh look at the efforts of the French automakers and their aeronautical roots. Beginning with Gabriel Voisin and his fascinating vehicles, the book looks at Hispano-Suiza, Renault, Peugeot, Panhard Levassor, Chenard & Walcker and a dozen other marques who crossed back and forth between air and land conveyances. This lavish edition is complete with historical images and documents, as well as the modern studio photography of Michael Furman.

French Curves - Delahaye, Delage, Talbot-Lago: The second in the series of titles that feature the great French cars from the Peter Mullin Collection. The three grand marques in French Curves are the epitome of the combination of wonderful French design and imaginative technological innovation. Authors Richard Adatto, Claude Figoni and Shana Hinds have presented 25 examples, complete with historical documents, vintage photographs and modern imagery by renowned photographer Michael Furman.
